Terms & Conditions
1. In these terms and conditions
a) ‘The nursery’ is bringing up baby Ltd., at the location specified on the application form.
b) ‘The parents’ are the parents or guardian(s) or the person responsible for any child attending the nursery.
2. Admission
The application form should be filled in and returned with a non-refundable fee of £30, if you wish your child to join the waiting list.
3. Notice of removal or reduction in attendance
Four weeks notice in writing is required for any child leaving the nursery or reducing his/her attendance. If four weeks notice is not given four weeks fees (or an appropriate proportion in the case of a reduction in attendance) will be payable.
4. Attendance
If your child is unable to attend, please notify the Manager as soon as possible. Otherwise, children are expected to attend regularly. The nursery regrets that refunds cannot be arranged in the case of absence or holidays. The nursery reserves the right, at any time, to refuse admission to and/or send home any child, if it considers such action to be necessary in the best interests of the nursery and other children.
5. Illness, allergies, chronic conditions and dietary requirements
Parents are requested to notify the Manager if children have been in contact with any infectious diseases, suffer from allergies or chronic conditions or have special dietary requirements. The Nursery reserves the right to refuse entry to any child the Manager considers is or may be unwell or suffering from any contagious or infectious complaint or has an allergy or chronic condition or a dietary requirement with which the Nursery is unequipped to deal with. The nursery shall have the right to act in loco parentis for the child and in the case of any illness, accident or emergency shall have the right to take such action as the Manager and her staff think fit, including hospitalisation if necessary, whether or not the parents or next of kin have been informed. Every possible effort will be made to contact parents in the case of an emergency.
6. Change of Address
Parents are asked to inform the nursery of any change of address or telephone numbers at work or at home.
7. Excursions
It will be the practice of the nursery to take children to the local park regularly (weather permitting) and on visits to other places of interest, such as the library. Your permission is requested and is assumed unless you direct otherwise.
8. Loss and Damage
Bringing up Baby Ltd. cannot take responsibility for the loss of or damage to property or clothing. Please dress children in hard-wearing, washable clothing which will stand up to nursery life. Children should not bring money or expensive toys to the nursery.
9. Collection
No child will be allowed to leave the premises alone and the person collecting the child must be known to one of the nursery staff. There will be no exceptions to this rule. Please do not send anyone unknown to the nursery to collect a child. Please make every effort to collect your child promptly at the end of each session.
10. Recruitment Fee
If parents of a child attending a Bringing up Baby nursery employ a member of staff on a full or part time basis between 8am and 6.15pm on any week day during the period of his/her employment or within 6 months of the member of staff leaving Bringing up Baby, a recruitment fee of 20% of their salary will be charged.
11. Prospectus
The prospectus shall not be construed as containing any misrepresentations of fact upon which reliance is made under the Misrepresentation Act of 1967. Any statements in the prospectus are intended to be statements of opinion made in good faith and believed to be true, but must not be regarded as representations on the basis of which children are entered for the nursery.
12. Fees
Fees are paid by direct debit, payable monthly in advance. If the direct debit is not set up in time for the first month’s fees, parents are required to pay the fees by cheque prior to starting at the nursery and subsequent fees will be paid by direct debit. Our fees are calculated by taking your weekly charge, multiplying it by 52 weeks and dividing it by 12 months.
Fees include Christmas & Easter Closures and all bank holidays.
Only one deposit is required per family and must be paid by cheque at least 28 days prior to the admission of your child/children to the nursery. The deposit will be set against outstanding fees but will be otherwise refunded when a child leaves the nursery, providing 4 weeks notice has been given. There is no reduction in fees for bank holidays, nursery holidays, family holidays and child sickness.
If a child reduces his/ her attendance, 4 weeks notice in writing is required, otherwise 1 month’s fees will still be payable on the higher attendance rate.
If any payments are cancelled or returned by the bank, a fee of £30 will be charged to cover administration costs.
All outstanding fees that are over 30 days late will carry a late surcharge of £25 per month.
If fees or any other sum payable to the nursery are unpaid or outstanding after more than 30 days, a child may, at the discretion of the nursery and on notice in writing to the parents, be required to leave the nursery.
If any fees are outstanding for over 30 days once a child has left, Bringing up Baby reserves the right to use a debt recovery firm to recover the full fees. The full fees plus any late charges and the debt recovery firm fees will be calculated and invoiced accordingly.
Fees can also be paid using childcare vouchers. Cash payments cannot be accepted for security reasons.
Our fees are reviewed annually.
