Here at Bringing Up Baby we understand that January can be a challenging month when trying to recover financially from the delights of Christmas and New year celebrations.
From the outset when Bringing Up Baby was first set up, we have always believed in good quality, affordable child care.
In order to help parents further with their childcare costs we are introducing our “January Sale “. For a limited period only, we will be not be charging a deposit and will only require a one-off payment which is non-refundable of £50.00 in place of the deposit.
The registration fee will still remain at £30.00 but now the costs of taking up a place at the nursery have been significantly reduced.
For further details or to arrange a visit to the nursery please contact our experienced nursery manager: Melissa Lewis on 020 8746 1015 or email email hidden; JavaScript is required

Carol was then interviewed by a panel of judges on 7 October and at an awards ceremony and gala evening at the Hilton London Metropole on Saturday
26 November she was announced as the WINNER! The whole of the Bringing up Baby management team were there to celebrate with her.
The award judges explained why Carol won as follows: “Through her effective leadership skills she has empowered her staff to engage fully with the enabling

We all feel it is a very well deserved win and a tribute to Carol’s hard work and professionalism. This win will be celebrated and remembered for a long time to come! Thank you also to all our parents who supported Carol throughout this process.
Clapham Pre-Schoolers’ Zoo Trip

Every Year, the Pre-Schoolers at Bringing Up Baby, Clapham that are soon to be leaving for ‘Big school’ have a special trip to say a very fond farewell . Although we are always sad that the children we have bonded with will be leaving, we try to make the transition to their first primary school a memorable one.
On the 20th June 2011 the current 8 leavers and their teachers walked down to Battersea Park to the zoo. On the way we were observed bus numbers and other interesting things happening on the street as it provided another wonderful learning opportunity
Once at the zoo the children enjoyed playing in the large sandpit and on the climbing frames. We also explored the Bear House tunnels and trampolines. Before exploring the further and doing some role play in the Fire Engine, we decided to stop for a snack provided by our own cook, Alice.
Once we had eaten, we walked around the zoo looking at all the animals and as well as stopping to pat the goats and pigs. We loved feeding the donkeys and nicknamed the pony ‘Unicorn’.
Best of all we loved the Meerkat enclosure as we could crawl into their enclosure and watch them in the centre of their habitat through the bubble hatch.
We hope the children that are leaving will remember the happy times they have spent with us and will also remember the fun times we had at the zoo before they moved on to their primary school. We will miss them!

Brentford Day Nursery Charity Fundraising
Since starting in 1989, Bringing Up Baby has a long history of fundraising for various charities and our Brentford Day Nursery has contributed to improving the lives of others with its activities to raise money for good causes.
No matter how large or how small the amount, the staff, parents and children have been busy in the past few years with a number of activities.
In 2009 we raised money for The Barnados Big Toddle managing a total of £957.20, quite a feat for a small nursery. In addition, money was raised for The Wish House (£25.00) and The Rifles (£25.00) a charity which supports the widows of soldiers. Even though these amounts may be considered realtively small, we believe that in doing our part these small amounts will eventually add up. The Dad’s Day raised more than £250.00 for the Kid’s company in Camberwell, a charity which helps vulnerable and traumatised children.
In 2010 £125.00 was raised for Children in Need while this year 2011 £39.00 has been raised so far for the Brain Injury Centre.
Bringing Up Baby also has its own charity that it supports throughout the year and for 2011 our chosen charity is Mary’s Meals. Set up in 2002 by Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow with the aim of setting up school feeding projects in communities where poverty and hunger prevent children from gaining an education, Mary’s Meals is a simple idea – one meal given every day to an impoverished child at school.
