Our Directors
Bringing up Baby was founded in 1989 by Sue Woodford and Anne de Zoysa, who are both mothers and have years of childcare experience.
Sue and Anne are also authors of the Good Nursery Guide, the first comprehensive guide to nursery education published in the UK 1993.
Managing Director
Anne de Zoysa

Anne is co founder and Managing Director of Bringing up Baby. Formerly a primary school teacher, Anne has worked in childcare and early years education for over twenty years. She has a Bsc Psychology Honours Degree and a Post Graduate Certificate in Primary Education. Co-author of The Good Nursery Guide published in 1993. Anne has been a Trustee of the Daycare Trust, a charitable organisation campaigning for quality and affordable childcare in the UK (1998-2002) and an advisor for the DFES on their work on Investors in Children. She is the Editorial Consultant for Nursery Management Today, a publication for the childcare sector. She has strong links with Sri Lanka and since the Tsunami has been supporting a refuge for girls.

Sue Woodford was a television producer and documentary editor, specialising in social issues and is the mother of 3 grown up children.
Marion Bones is Manager of our Richford Street Day Nursery and has been with the company since 1996.
