November/December News

Posted by bringingupbaby under: Brentford; Christmas; newcomers; staff .

We would like to say a big welcome to Karen our new Deputy Manager who joined the pre-school team.

We know they will have lots of fun with us and learn lots of new and exciting things as well as build great bonds as we are a fantastic bunch.

For October we looked at things that were invented by black people and the story “Handa’s surprise”.

We found out what a real guava, pineapple, passion fruit and avocado look like.

We have been doing lots of activities around the senses; we used the smell pots, tasted sugar, salt, lemon, cut up and tasted fruits; strawberries, plums, nectarines.

We made our own height charts, tried to grow some carrot tops, as well as cut out and decorated our faces.

For this week we are looking at fish and sharks, so we have been looking at books about sharks, and different types of fish in the sea.

We are also doing the shape Circle so we will be trying to find circles as we go on our travels. Although we didn’t mention it we are still doing lots of sticking, painting, building, cutting and drawing.

Don’t forget that Christmas is just around the corner so we will soon be doing lots of activities for that period.

Welcome goes out to Cherrilee and Maria who joined our baby room team.

We would also like to say welcome to 5 new children who also joined us in baby room. We hope that you will have as much fun as we are having and that we will form great and lasting bonds together.

We have done lots of activities around the senses, we made smell pots, listened to different sounds on CD’s,  story book “Little fish”, jelly play with animals, wet and dry sand, pasta play as well as corn flour slime.

We will be looking at pets for the next two weeks and after that we will be doing activities around our favourite toys before we actually venture into all the Christmas stuff.

As you can see we will be very, very busy so we may come home more tired and probably a bit more coloured with all the painting we will be doing. Don’t worry though in a few years you will be able to get a fortune for the masterpieces that we create.

Mummy, Daddy, Nan, don’t forget,
