Summer News 2008

We started August off with our annual Sports Day event held in Ravenscourt Park. The weather thankfully held and fortunately was not too hot either – in fact perfect running conditions prevailed.Our Sports Day is extremely popular with parents and children alike and is always well attended. We had event for all ages and stages of fitness and certificates and playdough medals made by our 3-5′s group were handed out to all who attended.

We have also been busy with fundraising for the Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospital. Over the years we have had a few children attending the nursery who were diagnosed with heart conditions at birth and subsequently came under the care of the hospital.

We thought it would be good to acknowledge the work of the hospital and also to raise awareness of the needs of others. We wanted to raise funds that would directly benefit the children currently in hospital so the proceeds of our activities will go to Rose Ward.

As part of our fundraising one of our parents, Matt volunteered to spend a day at nursery as a Nursery Practitioner in our 2-3′s room and made a fantastic addition to our staff team. As a result we have raised close to £400.00 in sponsor ship money for all his hard work.

We have also put together a children’s cook book for parents to purchase. This contains recipes that the children have used in their cooking activities.
