February Update

We are delighted to welcome 2 new children who will be visiting us and settling in over the next couple of weeks. Two of our toddlers are visiting the over two’s room prior to moving up permanently, and are really enjoying their time there.

We are having ‘chill out’ time at the end of the day in Baby room. We turn out all the lights and have soft music and fibre optic lamps and a disco light. The babies love to follow the reflection of the coloured lights on the ceiling and it’s a very relaxing way to round off a busy day!

The 2-3’s room is having a mini makeover this month. We have just purchased a whole new Home corner set with accessories. The children have been practising their domestic skills with the play iron and vacuum cleaner. Once the transformation is complete we will post photos on the website.
We give a warm welcome back to Niguel who has returned from maternity leave to join the staff team in the 2-3’s room.

Meanwhile in the 3-5’s room they have been working on a theme that focuses on themselves and what they enjoy doing. On a display board there are photos of the children and drawings of their favourite activities which includes, ‘riding a tricycle, doing hand stands on mummy’s bed, eating pancakes and playing golf’.
During a discussion on foods that promote good health the children got excited over a recipe for ‘blue- green drink’ (otherwise known as a blueberry smoothie). So off they went to Tesco to buy the ingredients and made the smoothie for tea.

We will also have pancakes for tea on Shrove Tuesday and we are looking forward to starting Chinese New Year with a vegetable stir fry & rice noodles and of course we will be using chop sticks. Congratulations to all those born in the year of the rat.
